Ryan Lagasse, president of Capital Curling Club, shared information about the upcoming USA Curling Junior U21 National Championships. The event will be held March 30-April 4 at Capital Ice Complex with the opening ceremony on March 30 at 5:30pm.
The Board approved the bid for replacement of the World War Memorial Building roof by Twin City Roofing LLC for $374,980.
The Board approved the base bid and alternate A for day-use roadway and boat ramp improvements at General Sibley Park by Strata Corporation for $591,675.30.
The Board approved an access easement near the Eagle Crest lift station and a storm sewer, drainage, and grading easement in Clairmont Family Conservation Park and Pioneer Park with the City of Bismarck for its Tyler Coulee Storm Water Improvements Project.
The Board authorized Bismarck Parks and Recreation District staff to complete a sidewalk project through special assessment along the east side of Clairmont Road as part of a City of Bismarck street improvement project in 2026. The project will improve connectivity between Pioneer Park and the Riverfront Trail and Clairmont Family Conservation Park and surrounding neighborhoods.
The Board authorized staff to work with the City of Bismarck to develop and issue a RFP for a community recreation center feasibility study with a maximum cost to BPRD of $75,000.
The Board approved the steps necessary to consider the sale of approximately 2 acres of undeveloped park land at the corner of Boston Drive and Burleigh Avenue to the City of Bismarck for a fire station.
The Board approved one-time support of $3,000 for the City of Bismarck’s Red, White & Boom event on July 4 as part of the America’s 250th anniversary.
The Board approved the request from the North Dakota Trade Office to place a statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Peace Park with all costs covered by NDTO and the Government of India.

The Board authorized staff to call for bids for a Satchel Paige statue to be installed at Bismarck Municipal Ballpark with costs to be covered by a Bismarck Recreation Council capital campaign. The Board authorized staff to dispose of obsolete equipment.
The Board went into executive session to consider applications for the executive director position. After reconvening the meeting in regular session, the Board named the following finalists for the position: Josh Clevenger, Ryan Geerdes, David Leker, and Mike Sullivan.
