General Sibley Park & Campground
5001 S. Washington St.
General Sibley Park is located on South Washington Street four miles south of the Bismarck Expressway.
The day use area is available year-round sunrise to sunset. Parking is permitted outside of the park gates.
The park includes RV campsites with electrical hook-ups and a tent camping area with full-service restrooms, showers, and water and dump stations. The park also includes picnic shelters, playgrounds, 18-hole disc golf course, boat ramp, amphitheater, walking paths and historical/interpretive panels.

Camping Fees
- RV campsites with electricity: $27 per night
- Tent camping: $14 per tent per night
NEW in 2025: Tent campsites may be reserved in advance using the same system as RV campsites.
Tips for Using the Online System
- There are two recommended options to make RV or tent campsite reservations:
- Reserve by campground map to search availability of all sites for specific dates (not designed for use on small screens such as smartphones). Watch video instructions. View screenshot instructions.
- Select a specific campsite and then choose dates.
- If you use the “Date and time” filter on the Resource Search page, choose every day you want to camp, not just the beginning and end dates.
- The campsite you are booking is not “reserved” until placed in the Shopping Cart (don’t use the “Add new date and time” or “Add a booking” links). If payment is not made within an hour, all items will be removed from the Shopping Cart.
- All campsite reservation details are included in your permit, which will be emailed after you complete your transaction. Or access permits anytime online via the Account Payment Details button when logged into your account. Filter receipts by date, module (reservations) and family member.
- In your account, View Family Member Schedules is available directly below your family list under My Account. Campsite reservations will appear on your schedule.

Day use area gates are locked at sunset and opened at 8am daily during the camping season.

- May 2-4: Camp at Sibley on May the Fourth
- Celebrate the popular space movie series – Star Wars – while camping during opening weekend. Registered campers can stop by the office for swag bags with kids’ activities.

- Join us for some great local music thanks to our partner, Dakota West Arts Council. Each concert features a different artist or brand. All ages welcome.

- A Dakota Zoo staff member will present one of the zoo animals in a fun and educational way. This is a unique experience you will be sure to remember.

- Dress the cute little monsters up and go trick or treating throughout the campground. And don’t forget to stop at the office for tricks or treats. Boo!
- Aug. 9: Christmas in August
- 4-8:30pm
- Celebrate the holiday season in August by decorating your campsite for Christmas.

- Enjoy a 9-hole glow course filled with colored lights and glowing baskets.

- Join us for a lighted dog-friendly evening walk. Hot cider and treats provided. Flashlights encouraged.
