Board of Park Commissioners Brief for May 15, 2025
Mike Wolf shared information about the 50th Annual Sam McQuade Sr. Charity Softball Tournament as a Bismarck Parks and Recreation District featured partner. More than 80 charitable nonprofits have benefited from an estimated $3 million in donations raised through the history of the tournament. Many special activities are planned for the 50th tournament this year.
The Board accepted the 2024 audit as presented by Mindy Piatz of Brady, Martz and Associates.
The Board approved the bid for painting the VFW Sports Center from Oxentenko Inc. in the amount of $155,500.
The Board approved the bid for a new playground at McDowell Dam Recreation Area from Paramount Builders Inc. in the amount of $129,658.
The Board approved the bid for replacement playground equipment and installation at General Sibley Park from Webber Recreation in the amount of $43,741 and for playground surfacing from Dakota Playground in the amount of $4,678.
The Board approved a Companion Agreement with the City of Bismarck for the Expressway Underpass Tunnel Mural.
The Board approved the Concessions Agreement extension with Bismarck Hockey Boosters at Capital Ice Complex for one additional year through Aug. 31, 2026.
The Board approved the addendum to the Operating Agreement with Bareknuckle Baseball and Northwoods League due to the installation of artificial turf at Bismarck Municipal Ballpark.
The Board entered Executive Session to discuss contract negotiation strategy for the sale of Hay Creek lots.
The next regularly scheduled Board meeting is Thursday, June 19, at 5:15 p.m. in the Tom Baker Meeting Room.
