BPRD Receives Regional Tennis Award

Bismarck Parks and Recreation District (BPRD) recently received the U.S. Tennis Association (USTA) Northern Member Organization of the Year Award for 2023. It recognizes outstanding service by clubs, community tennis associations, schools, national junior tennis and learning chapters, park and recreation agencies, and other member organizations in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and northwestern Wisconsin.

BPRD was recognized for its commitment to providing innovative tennis programming for the community that is affordable, accessible and sustainable, along with high-quality places to play the game. BPRD offers a variety of tennis programming throughout the year, including lessons for youth and adults, leagues, tournaments and special events. Staff bring pop-up tennis to a variety of community events, such as local farmers markets, movie nights at parks and school family fitness nights. The park district has also made significant investments in its community tennis facilities over the last few years. BPRD works closely with many community partners to provide tennis opportunities for all.

“Bismarck Parks and Recreation District is honored to receive this award from USTA Northern,” says Kevin Klipfel, BPRD executive director. “I commend our staff’s commitment to grow the game of tennis, work with community partners, and implement new outreach activities that benefit our residents and visitors.”
