Scholarships

Activity and Program Scholarships

Bismarck Parks and Recreation District believes everyone should be able to take part in recreational activities, no matter their financial situation. BPRD scholarships help eligible participants pay less for activities, pool passes, and fitness memberships, making our programs more accessible to all.

BPRD asks parents and guardians to do their best to make sure children attend the programs they sign up for. Many programs fill up, and attending helps BPRD serve as many families as possible.

Application Process

School Year

  • Contact the social worker at your child’s school. The social worker will provide you with the fee waiver form, which you will bring to the BPRD office, 400 E. Front Ave., to register your child in your selected programs.
  • Home school families may follow the Summer Months process below.
  • A new waiver is required each school year.

Summer Months and Adults

  • Print the scholarship application (PDF) and fill it out. Hard copies are also available at the BPRD office, 400 E. Front Ave.
  • Bring the completed application with proof of need (for example, your most recent tax return or current qualification for SNAP or Medicaid benefits) to the BRPD office to register for programs or outdoor pool season passes.
