AARP Outdoor Fitness Park Organized by FitLot
AARP has teamed up with the nonprofit FitLot to bring an outdoor fitness space to all 50 states, DC, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Bismarck was chosen as the North Dakota location. The fitness park is located in the “upper” portion of Jaycee Centennial Park with easy access from the parking lot off of N. 4th St. The equipment has step-by-step instructions on how to use it safely and effectively.
- Free Circuit training series and drop-in classes are offered with Bismarck Parks and Recreation District certified instructors.
Horizon Park Fitness Trail
The Fitness Trail at Horizon Park is a 1/3 mile loop trail along the perimeter and interior of the park with three exercise machines. The machines include a chest press, captain’s chair, and an accessible handcycle.
Kiwanis Park Fitness Trail
The Fitness Trail at Kiwanis Park is a 0.6 mile loop trail along the perimeter of the park with four exercise machines and two active benches. Next to each active bench is a sign with photo-by-photo demonstrations of various exercises and a suggested workout.
