American Softball Association (ASA) James Ferrell Award of Excellence

For conducting one of the highest ASA tournaments. Bismarck Parks and Recreation has received this award for each of the 11 national tournaments hosted in Bismarck

Certified Park and Recreation Executive (CPRE)

  • The CPRE designation is a mastery-level credential focusing on the practical knowledge and current real-world skills necessary in today’s changing park and recreation environment. At this time, there is only one CPRE in the state of North Dakota. The BPRD staff with this distinction are Randy Bina, Executive Director and Kevin Klipfel, Facilities and Programs Director.

Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP)

  • The CPRP designation shows that an individual has met education and experience qualifications, and illustrates commitment to the profession as well as  knowledge and understanding of key concepts within parks and recreation. There are currently 13 CPRP’s in the state of North Dakota, three employed at BPRD. They are: Tim Kuntz, RaNae Jochim and Dylan Thiem.
