Arbor Day 2021

The Bismarck community celebrated Arbor Day on May 7 at Heritage Park in northwest Bismarck. Liberty Elementary School fourth graders sang songs, shared readings, performed a skit and told jokes about trees to commemorate the event.

Chad Moldenhauer, Heritage Development, was recognized for his greening efforts in Bismarck, and a tree was planted at the park in his honor.

Appleseed Awards for beautification efforts on public property were presented to the Bismarck-Mandan Garden Club, Dakota Community Bank and Bismarck Downtowner’s Association. The Beautification Award, recognizing beautification efforts on private property, was presented to Century 21 Morrison Realty. Partners in Planting sponsors were also recognized. The day marked Bismarck’s 44th year as a Tree City USA.

Students received apples and trees to plant to expand Bismarck’s urban forest.
