Bismarck Board of Park Commissioners Brief for April 20, 2023

Jonny Sellars shared information about Dakota United Soccer Club as a Bismarck Parks and Recreation District (BPRD) featured partner. The organization’s focus is on recreational soccer for youth ages 4-12. About 1,500 youth participate in their spring and fall leagues, while their winter and summer academies include about 250 youth per session. Each February, Dakota United Soccer hosts an indoor tournament at Fore Seasons Center with about 120 teams.

The Board approved the Silver Ranch Park and Trail Master Plan memorandum of understanding. The master plan is natured-based and includes a trail network, pollinator gardens and tree plantings, along with recreational amenities.

The Board awarded the general base bid for Hay Creek Park to Northwest Contracting Inc. for $726,004.75 and the mechanical base bid to Northern Plains Plumbing & Heating Inc. for $40,660.

The Board authorized rebidding the Joann Hetzel Memorial 4-H Building roofing project as no bids were received.
