China to Participate in 2019 Babe Ruth 13-15 World Series

Hamilton, NJ…Babe Ruth League, Inc. is excited to announce that a team from MLB China will participate as an invitational team at the 2019 Babe Ruth 13-15 World Series to be held in Bismarck, North Dakota, August 7-15.

As the host community, Bismarck will have its own host team compete in the World Series, which will also include eight regional champions from across the country and the invitational team from China.  The competition will begin with pool play before advancing to a single elimination bracket to determine the World Series champion.

Mr. Rick Dell, a brilliant American baseball coach who won many awards for his coaching accomplishments at the College of New Jersey, currently holds the position of General Manager for MLB’s Baseball Development in Asia.  Based in Beijing, China, Dell has spent the last 12 years developing coaches and players, promoting the game throughout Asia.

“It is a pleasure to work with Babe Ruth League Vice President Robert Faherty to arrange for a team from MLB China to take part in the World Series,” said Dell.   “The World Series is an incredible opportunity for youth from China to visit another country, explore new surroundings, make new friends, and experience a unique social and cultural exchange.”

The World Series games will be played at Municipal Ballpark, home of Dakota Community Bank and Trust Field, a 1,900 seat ballpark maintained by the Bismarck Parks and Recreation District.  In 2015, a capital campaign was completed to include facility improvements that included a new, covered grandstand with stadium seats, a new concessions area, new press box, adjustments to the outfield fence, new dugouts, and the addition of practice/pre-game warm-up facilities.

“Bismarck is a proud baseball community,” said Randy Bina, Executive Director of the Bismarck Parks and Recreation District.   “To take our baseball program to the next level and invite kids from around the globe to Bismarck to play is a great opportunity for our community.”
