Outdoor Pools Closing for the Season

Bismarck Parks and Recreation District’s (BPRD) outdoor pool season is ending over the next few weeks as its college and high school workforce heads back to school and begins practice for fall sports.

The last day for Hillside Aquatic Complex is Friday, Aug. 11. Elks Aquatic Center will remain open through Sunday, Aug. 20.

Swimming is available year-round at the BSC Aquatic & Wellness Center. BPRD is hiring lifeguards and swim instructors. Training is available as follows:

  • Lifeguard Classes: Aug. 16-19 and Oct. 26-29 (Submit a job application to work as a lifeguard at BPRD, and we will enroll you in one of our lifeguarding classes for FREE.)
  • Lifeguard Recertification Class: Oct. 7
  • Lifeguard Instructor Course: Oct. 19-21
  • Lifeguard Review Instructor Course: Oct. 19
