Open Houses on Sept. 27 & 29 Celebrate Park Improvements


Bismarck Parks and Recreation District (BPRD) is holding two open houses to showcase the improvements made to North Central Park and Sertoma Park this year.

North Central Park Open House

Tuesday, Sept. 27, 4-6pm

BPRD staff will be at North Central Park, 830 Central Ave., with basketball, tennis and pickleball equipment for public use during the event.

Site Enhancements

  • New fully-inclusive playground with poured-in-place rubber surfacing
  • Resurfaced basketball court
  • New picnic shelter
  • New one-third mile loop trail
  • Renovated warming house building with accessible restrooms
  • New parking lot with accessible parking, along with accessible routes to the playground, tennis/pickleball courts and basketball court


Sertoma Park Tennis Courts & Fitness Area Open House

Thursday, Sept. 29, 4-6pm

BPRD tennis, pickleball and fitness instructors will be at Sertoma Park, along W. Arbor Ave. (west of Clem Kelly Athletic Complex) during the event to offer demonstrations and tips to make the most of the new park features.

Site Enhancements

  • Resurfaced tennis courts with lights for evening play
  • Resurfaced youth tennis/pickleball courts
  • Accessible pathways connecting parking lot to tennis courts and spectator area
  • New FitLot with fitness equipment for ages 12 and up
  • New obstacle course for ages 5 and up
  • New active benches
  • New shared-use trail connection to existing Sertoma Park trail system
