Board of Park Commissioners Brief for June 19, 2025
Jack Jones shared information about USA Patriots Kids Camp as a Bismarck Parks and Recreation District featured partner. The camp will bring 16 kids with amputations or limb loss to Bismarck for a week to learn softball and life skills, culminating with a softball game at Bismarck Municipal Ballpark on July 5.
Joe Satrom discussed Sleepy Hollow Theatre and Arts Park as another BPRD featured partner. Their summer season includes two productions, the Wizard of Oz and Grease.
Spencer Aune, BPRD recreation specialist, provided highlights about July Celebration, a series of free and low-cost events for the community to enjoy.
The Board approved the base bid for videoboard replacement at BSC Aquatic & Wellness Center from Daktronics Inc. in the amount of $200,000.
The Board rejected the bid for cart path installation at Tom O’Leary Golf Course due to the cost and approved rebidding the project.
The Board authorized staff to issue a second call for bids for the hot tub retiling project at Capital Racquet & Fitness Center as no bids were received the first time.
The Board approved the award for General Sibley Park playground surfacing to Webber Recreation in the amount of $5,065 as the original lower bidder declined the project.
The Board approved Round 2 Matching Grants as follows:

- Fastrax BMX
- Nishu Bowmen Archery Complex
The Board approved the real estate purchase agreement for sale of Hay Creek Addition Lots 4, 5, 6, and 7 to Innova Homes LLC. The Board approved fees for adults to use the Sheila Schafer Junior Links and Practice Area. The Board authorized staff to call for bids for concession operations at Riverwood Golf Course. The Board approved the one-year extension of concession agreements with Bismarck Sports Group Food Services at VFW Sports Center and Tom O’Leary Golf Course. The Board accepted the Transportation Alternative grant for Sunrise Trail connection in 2027, pending approval by the City of Bismarck Commission.
