Board of Park Commissioners Brief for October 16, 2025
Cherise Pfaff shared information about Bismarck Arts & Galleries Association as a Bismarck Parks and Recreation District featured partner. BAGA hosts art exhibits and classes throughout the year, and their gallery space is available for rentals. They also have a store. Their biggest annual event is the Capital A’Fair.
Lauren Oster, City of Bismarck planner, presented the draft Bismarck Arts and Culture Master Plan for Board feedback. Partners in developing the plan included Dakota West Arts Council, Bismarck Public Schools, and Bismarck Parks and Recreation District.
No bids were received for the World War Memorial Building reroofing project, so the Board authorized readvertising for bids.
The Board authorized a call for bids for the BPRD administrative office lobby renovation.
The Board approved the 2026 Matching Grant application. The Board approved the Bismarck Gymnastic Academy use agreement and the park development agreement for Silver Ranch 3 and 4. The Board authorized staff to apply for grants for Emerald Ash Borer mitigation and Tom O’Leary tennis court hitting wall improvements. The Board authorized calls for bids for 2026 maintenance equipment and fertilizer. The Board authorized staff to appy for a Bank of North Dakota infrastructure loan. The Board authorized selection of a consultant and call for bids for the General Sibley Park day use area road project.
The next regularly scheduled Board meeting is Thursday, November 20, at 5:15pm in the Tom Baker Meeting Room.
