Tennis (Fall) Juniors

Junior Varsity

For junior varsity players and “C” squad players, these classes focus on competitive aspects of tennis, including stroke production, spin, singles and doubles positioning and strategy, etiquette and sportsmanship. Lots of fun, yet challenging drills and competitive games, all taught by a certified USPTA tennis professional.

Varsity

For varsity players in need of more advanced coaching and development. Focus will be on multiple game style development, situation based tactics/strategy, point development, mental/ emotional strength training, stress management, strength training and agility/quickness training.

Blacklight Tennis – Friday, Oct. 24

A fun, high-energy event for all levels of tennis players. There will be 60 minutes of tennis games in a “glow in the dark” atmosphere. It will be dark, so wear white or neon colors to “glow”! Glow sticks and necklaces will be provided. Glow face painting will be on-site for
children.

Creepy Classic Tennis Tournament

Location

  • Capital Racquet & Fitness Center, 3200 N. 10th St.

Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025 (Beginners)

An evening 10 & under tennis tournament for beginner youth players ages 7-10. The USTA 10 & under tennis format will be used with modified scoring, equipment, and court size to introduce beginning youth players to competitive match play. Matches will be held from 4-7pm on Thursday. Players entering these divisions will have on court coaching assistance with scoring, serving, and etiquette available upon request.

  • 10U (ages 9-10): Orange Balls; 60-ft Court
  • 8U (ages 7-8): Red Balls; 36-ft Court

Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025 (Competitive Juniors)

Tournament for 12U-18U players.

  • Boys’ Doubles: 8:30am-12pm
  • Girls’ Doubles: 8:30am-12pm
  • Mixed Doubles: 12:30pm-5:30pm

You must be ready to play during these time slots.

Deadline and Draw Information

Entries and fees must be received 48 hours in advance for full consideration into the tournament. Draw information will be available at the court site(s) during the day and up to 2 hours prior to the event. Please arrive 20 minutes earlier than your scheduled start time and plan to “stay and play” for the duration of your event time slot.

Awards

1st, 2nd and consolation awards will be given for all divisions. 3rd place will be awarded with a full draw of 8 players. Awards will also be given for the team with the best costume.

Halloween Refreshments

There will be Halloween snacks and food for players throughout each tournament time slot.

Registration and Entry Fees

  • $23 for beginners; $25 per event for competitive juniors
    *Maximum of two events per person
  • Fee includes t-shirt, Halloween goody bag and Halloween snacks.

Junior Team Challenges

Participants get an introduction to competition for players 5-12 using a red, orange or green ball based on age. This low level competitive play experience highlights teamwork and skill development in a fun social environment.

Players enter as individuals and will be matched with others of like ability to form teams. Racquets are provided for those who need one. Parents are encouraged to sign up to be on court helpers. Awards are given to each participant for competing!
