Sheila Schafer Junior Links Open for Golfers
Thank you to everyone for joining us for the grand opening of the relocated and expanded Sheila Schafer Junior Links on July 1.
The Sheila Schafer Junior Links has expanded to four holes and a practice area adjacent to Pebble Creek Golf Course, 2525 N. 19th St. The original three-hole course was constructed in August 1988 north of VFW Sports Center. It was renamed the Sheila Schafer Junior Links on May 27, 1993, in honor of Schafer’s commitment to the game of golf and engaging youth in the sport.
The new par-12 Sheila Schafer Junior Links has four holes with a course length of 302 yards. There is also a practice area with multiple tees to play. Youth ages 17 and under play for free. The course is cut at fairway height to allow all ages to have the ability to hit a variety of golf shots to the new greens and holes. The course provides an ideal setting for beginning golfers to learn the game, a premier site for youth golf lessons, and an amazing experience for families to play together.
This project was made possible with support from Dakota Junior Golf Association, building on the long-time partnership between DJGA and BPRD.
