Meet Rod

Rod Morasch, M.A., is the Head Tennis Professional for Bismarck Parks and Recreation. He is a certified through the US Professional Tennis Association. Rod played college tennis at Seattle Pacific University and was twice voted “Most Inspirational” by his peers. While in college, Rod majored in Education, specializing in child and teen development. That background provides Rod with the ability to implement lesson plans to best serve his tennis clients. Rod is a nationally ranked player and received his tennis professional teaching training at the US Tennis Association’s Pacific Northwest Section training facility in Vancouver, WA. He received the 2019 Jack Dow Award for Adult Programming from the US Tennis Association Northern Section.

Meet Jon

Jon Hilzendeger has been a tennis instructor with Bismarck Parks and Recreation District (BPRD) for 3 years. He has been certified through the US Professional Tennis Association for 32 years. Prior to teaching and coaching in Bismarck, Jon owned and coached at his own company, Hilzendeger Tennis & Training, in Baltimore, MD, for 20 years. He is a graduate of two High Performance tennis centers, Lizardo and Tournament Tough, both in Baltimore. In addition to teaching group and private lessons for BPRD, Jon is currently the assistant varsity coach for Legacy High School boys’ and girls’ tennis teams.
